When JESUS ascended to heaven, did he use a wormhole?

He flew up into the sky and then disappeared. Now we all know that Heaven is not literally up above the atmosphere of the earth, so did Jesus take a wormhole portal type thing to get to Heaven? If so, why didn't he just do that from the ground? Why confuse those poor uneducated folks into thinking Heaven was up in the sky?
