Question about wormholes...?

I just read this article (a href="http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-02-scientists-possibility-wormholes-stars.html)" rel="nofollow"http://www.physorg.com/news/2011-02-scie…/a and I'm a little confused. It didn't really go into any detail about how the conclusion was drawn that stars could contain wormholes to and from other stars, but in my admittedly limited understanding of physics it all kind of seems a little far fetched. I mean, how would one star come to be linked to another one in the first place? Would they have to form simultaneously? It's all just very confusing. Thanks!
