Hypothetically what would it take to open a wormhole?

A concentrated burst and astronomical amount of energy. It would also take tremendous energy to keep a wormhole open, which otherwise would instantly collapse or close, that is seal itself back close. Such technology is possibly centuries to a little over a millenium away.
